Name's McCree.

You seem familiar. Ain't I killed you before?

Jesse McCree

A former Blackwatch agent now gun for hire. He makes a living dispensing justice as he sees fit.

Wanderlust

The various travels and exploits of one Jesse McCree.

paramours

Certain folks have found their way into the cowboy's heart, a task that ain't so easily done.

Allies

Folks that have, through one thing or another, earned Jesse's trust and he'd even say he's right fond of.

The Mun

Definitely a human and not an A.I. that searches up McCree thirst images and enjoys Ram Ranch

The Man:

Subject to change with new lore in Overwatch 2
From Texas according to his dialogue with Moira and raised on a farm according to Ashe he wasn't too old when the rural life lost its appeal and a desire for more came a-callin'.He was with the Deadlocks from age 14 to 17 until he was picked up during a Blackwatch sting operation by Gabriel Reyes.Cynical at first due to the choice of either prison or utilizing his handiness with a gun and surprising tactical know-how to better the world. He would eventually come around but it would take a good deal of coaxing.Gabriel was a good man to him despite the rough start. He was gruff and with a heart of gold, needless to say Jesse looked up to him a bit like a father.Captain Amari was someone who taught him how to survive where Gabriel taught him how to live. She'd help him perfect his aim, and while nothing did quite beat the scope of a rifle in distance and power he'd more than happily take the comfortable weight of his revolver any day.The nature of Blackwatch's operations would vary, ranging at times to gathering intel to making unwanted variables "disappear". It was wetwork that wasn't allowed to dirty the shiny, pristine blue of Overwatch. He'd eventually leave after a falling out of ideologies in Blackwatch. He'd seen just how things were going and wanted no part in it.He would eventually lose his arm sometime after the fall, feeling slight shame in the way he'd abandoned folks he didn't think he deserved to get help from anyone that could do a proper job. Reason enough why the prosthetic appears far more rustic than Genji's. Chop shop machinework isn't up to either old man Lindholm or the doc's standard. His attitude to many of the older members of Overwatch is cordial and full of respect. He has a fondness for Fareeha, Angela, and Genji of course, all having been around the same age and while not similar backgrounds there was a mutual understanding and respect for sure. His favorite liquor is bourbon and if you ever hand him a craft beer he'll likely knock you in the jaw.His belt is a memento of his time with the Deadlock gang, a gift from the co-founder and spitfire of a little lady. It was meant to be given in ironic jest but he fell in love with the thing.Adds a couple sugars and a bit of cream into his coffee and tells people it's black.Due to his nature with the law in the past and present he doesn't deem himself a 'hero' in the slightest.Due to his prosthetic being relatively recent (within the last 5 years) he still gets phantom pains and sensations in the arm that no longer is there. It fucks him right up.Drinks to forget his pain, is pained because he drinks, it's a vicious cycle.Thinks he'd be like to settle down someday but knows he'll never be able to properly.

The Story So Far:

Before the recall:

Things had mostly stagnated for the Gunslinger. Jobs indeed trickled in at a steady rate and while that kept McCree occupied and from motel to motel while on the move from the authorities it left little to a proper life that he could live.

He saw way winds were blowing as he ventured across the country and with the way Talon operatives were taking key notes from the old Blackwatch playbook he knew his neutrality wouldn't keep up forever.

And there was only one side he would be settling with.

After the recall:

When the Recall came he found himself on the recieiving end to come sauntering back to active duty, illegal though it might've been. While he almost jumped at the chance he was well aware that there had been some unfinished business left undone.

It isn't to say that he was just going to cut and run without helping out in their efforts though. He'd gone to great lengths busting an old friend out and sending her their way in his stead after all.

He'd come around in time, just after all his affairs were put in order.

Fortunate Son :

Truly he isn't sure how it happened or in what manner there had been but the Gunslinger awoke from a drunken bender (not unlike typical occasions) to find himself back along the Ol' 66.

More precisely he was in the heart of Deadlock turf and had to get out while he still could. That had at least been the initial plan... Until the shooting started and he was running and gunning for his life.

In do time he'd met an old face and was called a traitorous yellow belly by a man from his past. Tortured for a hot minute. And in the process of freeing himself from it all he'd gotten his arm all mangled up and irreparably damaged.

Again.

It was an unfortunate few days without a working arm again as he sought assistance with those back at the Overwatch FOB.

A bit of adjusting. But he'd be back to 100 soon enough.

He'd need to be for what came after.

Though things were back to the norm when he'd returned from the Southwest as it seemed. Continuing his trek across the world to wherever justice desired his steady aim to settle for a time.

Seemed he'd found a penchant for returning to Japan once and then, a few key places in particular but those were for other affairs.

House of the Rising Sun :

The details have gotten a bit fuzzy at this point on what went down. He remembers the weapon smuggler, getting information out of him in ways he'd admit weren't pretty.

Blackwatch methods. It made his stomach twist in a knot thinking about how it'd make the old man proud.

But he'd found out about the deal location and time. What he hadn't expected were the Omnics.

Deep purple models, heavy types among them. He'd been... Familiar with them from back in King's Row seven years ago.

There was gunfire, a handful of them. The majority escaped towards the city... More of the details are lost to him.

He remembers trying to route them in the building they hold up within.
A bang to the side of his head happens next.

Pain.

The tearing of metal.

FInally a gunshot and the Cowboy is out for a while.
A long while.

He awakens sometime later, his arm gone again. Great.

He gathers his things and untethers himself from the machines wire by wire...
Actually, he's now acutely aware he's in some hospital.

He doesn't know how long it's been exactly, but he does escape promptly, mindful of his recovered wounds.

It appears the Gunslinger has been out of things for over a month, first order of business is getting himself a new arm.

Be still my heart:

Needless to say the cowboy isn't held down by a single person, ain't to say he doesn't care about everyone he's with though. Each one holds a special spot in his heart.

As it happens it's her home he's currently taking up residence in. Granted he never planned on keeping to a single place to live but it's secure and safe and he ain't exactly able to keep away from the li'l lady for too long.

Might be he's caught under a spell, who's to say. He ain't minding it one way or another.

A sweet little lady, looks out for him when he's in the area and when he needs to lay low for a time.
He knows she wants him to stay but unfortunately he's got that wanderlust about him. Besides, it wouldn't much be fair to her if he did so. She really ought to fancy someone that could give her what she wants, even if he can't bear to let her go.

From an off run-in involving a hastily cleaned shirt (that may or may not have been stained with blood) to a quiet drink in the dead of night.
Things really hit off quickly didn't they? Though he does think she looks good with the outfit on... There's something a bit more charming when she's in her usual attire, that ring helps with it all come together of course.

Good Folks:

@lareinadelhack

The woman with no name, literally in some circumstances. She's distrustful of most, often playing games as she runs circles around folks' heads but she's let him in enough he'd reckon. Certainly doesn't seem shy to ask for the company.

The Doc as he'd remembered her from way back when. She's a sweet woman, always was and likely always will be. She frets over him but really what else is new, much like the old man he partly does pray to whatever out there might be listenin' that nothing bad befalls her.
Lord knows she doesn't deserve it.
